After previously dealing with other agents in the area who disrespected my time and energy, finding Alex online was a total breath of fresh air. Before we even officially started touring homes, he went out of his way to meet me midway between Eau Claire and Rochester at a coffee shop. He sat down with me to explain the entire home-buying process in clear, easy-to-understand language, setting expectations and sharing his core values around education, communication, and responsiveness. Meeting his sweet dogs, Atlas and Kaia, was such a wonderful bonus, too! As someone relocating to Rochester, MN, Alex made the entire house-hunting journey completely seamless. He showed me homes around Rochester, connected me with top-tier industry professionals—including great home inspectors—and expertly negotiated repairs following the inspection.     We were first time home buyers, who had previously not had the best of experiences with a realtor or lender. We paused our home buying for a time until we could find a realtor who could help us the way we needed. After looking on google for a first time home buyer realtor, I found Alex! Boy, I totally get why he is ranked so good for first time home buyers; Alex was so helpful from the start to the end. We met first for breakfast and he went through the whole process, the numbers and everything with my wife and me. He explained the lending options, the types of homes, fees involved, and the overall market. We walked away feeling so much more ready for our home buying journey, Alex also provided a lender contact named Heather, Heather was amazing in the education and qualifying for us. As we looked at homes, Alex was very good with a contact named Luke who helped us understand some of the cost involved in some repairs on homes. Alex was very diligent to give us his honest opinion, help us look for things in the homes and really work through the numbers. We ended up finding a home while Alex was on vacation, and yet he went above and beyond by negotiating and staying on top of our offer after we placed it. He was great with providing us with assistance by his realtor contacts to show us the home a couple times prior to the offer. Alex is very good at what he does, and super friendly.

    We were referred to Alex Mayer by a couple friends who had previously worked with him during their sales. We were considering selling our 15-acre property on the southeast side of Rochester a few months later and knew we needed an agent experienced with higher-value and unique homes. We were moving out of state and needed someone we could trust in Rochester to sell our home. We were anxious about how to handle the details from out of state. When we first met Alex, he put us at ease right away. He explained the current Rochester market, gave us a realistic idea of what to expect, and provided three pricing strategies with emphasis on which one he recommended in our situation. Alex has a lot of experience in working with clients selling out of state and shared stories of how previous clients had worked through common hurdles. Alex also has a strong marketing presence and showed how that translated to working in our home sale. He showed what he was doing and why it was working. It was a marketing plan based in strategy and “Actively Marketing” our home. When we were ready to list, Alex prepared several recent sales that showed we had a chance at an even higher sale price. A week later we were on the market with professional photos and video. Within the first week we had an offer, higher than we had expected! Alex helped us work out the details remotely and we accepted the offer from the convenience of our new home. Alex guided us through inspections, negotiations, and each step that followed. He always kept us informed and reminded us of what was about to happen next. One thing that impressed us was he anticipated potential issues before they became problems. He explained options and helped keep us feeling calm and in control in the process. When problems came up, Alex was always quick to provide perspective and our options. I told the contractor I wanted to sell in the coming year, so he suggested talking to Alex before making any major updates. Upon first meeting, Alex put me at ease explaining what was worth doing and what was not. He explained the options, many I hadn’t considered, and made suggestions which repairs were necessary and who to contact for them. The next Spring, I was ready to sell.
